Here's what I've made my first couple days in this magical place. I'm in my element... photographing on the street. It is unbelievably crowded. Luckily I'm staying in a leafy, residential area called Sant Elena, which is about a 25 minute walk from Piazza San Marco. When I've had my fill of the sea of humanity trying to move across the narrow bridges that span the canals, I can retreat to the old convent that is my hotel far from the madding crowd.
My favorite stop so far has been the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. The last photo is the place where she is buried, alongside all her dogs. I love the engraved headstone with their names and dates.
