I began a series called "Grandmother With a Camera" 15 years ago when my first grandchild was born. I'm joyfully beginning Chapter 2 of this body of work, now that a brand new member of the family has made an appearance. I'll be able to make a lot of pictures of the little guy, as I'm living in his New York City apartment helping care for him... for six weeks!
I've been at this part-time nanny job for a week already and have, between naps and feedings and burpings and diaper changes, begun to make photographs of this sweet six-week old and his family.
My favorite parts of being with him thus far are feeling the weight of his head nuzzled up against my neck, the softness of his skin, the little sounds he makes and the intensity of the connection I feel when he looks into my eyes. Spending so much time with him is a gift I'll always treasure.
