I love the immediacy and the honesty of street photography. The unpredictability of it. There’s so much room there and so much freedom. There are so many possibilities, so many configurations and juxtapositions. There’s so much movement… nothing stays the same for long. You have to be quick and alert. You have to pay attention and be open to what’s in front of you. I'm constantly intrigued and inspired by the shapes, the angles, the shadows, the gestures, the way things line up, the way people are with one another, the way people can be surrounded by so many others but look stunningly alone. The way there is such extraordinary beauty – and humor - in the most mundane of moments. The way some people are rushing and not noticing. The way people connect with others – even if for just a split second, the way some people reveal their joy openly. Or their sorrow or their pain.
